Overcoming Monday Blues While Coworking

Monday blues is an expression that became popular and often used over the years. Hence, this best describes our feelings when our work week starts. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it is only felt every Monday, but it can be felt whenever before we start working and still hung up from off days or vacation.

However, feeling lazy and entertaining it drastically affects our productivity at work. Oftentimes, when we usually rely on this, it may affect our wellbeing causing anxiety, sadness, and the lack of having the will to work. This could be bothersome and so unprofessional at work.

In this blog, we will share with you how you can overcome your “Monday Blues” that could effectively help you take it off from your system and start working productively.

Identity What Causes It

The best way to overcome it is to acknowledge it NOT to entertain it but to know what causes it for you to feel this way. There can be several factors that may have triggered it—the atmosphere while working, co-workers that let you absorb their stress, or too much workload and meetings. The idea is for you to release the stress such as talking to someone to get it off your chest, finding another spot or table where you can work, take off some workloads or reschedule some meetings.

Remember that it won’t make you weak if you acknowledge some of it or pause for a while because you’re human. You need to breathe, rest, and reorganize your thoughts for the better.

The Amount Of Workload

When you have too much on your plate, it means that the business is doing good which keeps you busy. However, it is not ideal if you take all of the responsibilities on your own. If you think that too much work has been assigned to you, you should discuss it with your boss. A good boss or employer would understand that there’s just too much that you can handle.

You might as well try to manage your tasks accordingly whether you need to take care of the easier tasks first or the ones with upcoming deadlines.

Get Some Rest

Going to bed and getting enough sleep is important for you to function well the next day. It’s understandable that there can be times when you need to work overtime to finish a task, but you should not push yourself too much.

One best way to boost your work productivity is to relax your mind after work and get enough sleep.

When you’re coworking, you’re not obliged to come and go at the same time. And even if your work has minimal supervision from your boss, it doesn’t mean that you can’t take a break like for a coffee, snack, or meal. Taking a break between work is also a way of resting your mind.

Organize Your Tasks

Oftentimes, the start of your workweek is when your workload will be given to you. But you don’t have to panic and feel rattled over the tasks that you have to finish. The best approach is to organize your task accordingly.

Take care of the tasks that you know you can finish faster and create a to-do list for other tasks depending on their deadlines.

Do not overthink because you’re exhausting your mind by doing it which can highly affect how you work.

Plan Something To Work Better

Another way for you to boost your productivity while working is by planning something that you can look forward to on your next rest day. In this way, you will feel relaxed knowing that you have something to look forward to getting you through your workweek. But remember to take it as inspiration to keep you motivated at work—and not for you to slack off.
